Worshiping Elon Musk

Am I the only one who is sick and tired of seeing Elon Musk being worshiped like a modern-time Messiah?

Elon Musk is more of a Thomas Edison than a Tesla. Most of his ideas are stolen/bought  by others, yet like Thomas Edison he is depicted by the media as the ultimate superbrained inventor of his era, which is far from being the truth. The brains behind the vast majority of technologies he gets rich on, are unknown scientists and engineers, most of which are paid way lower than they deserve and definitely lower than one might expect given that their boss is one of the wealthiest businessmen out there.

The whole cult of worshiping him reminds me of medieval kings. A medieval king would go in a war, and his generals would come up with plans to win it. His soldiers would then fight with bravery, and win the battle shedding rivers of their blood. Yet afterwards the king would be presented as the mastermind behind the battle plan, as well as the brave warrior who won it, not to mention that he would get all the gold. That's exactly the case with Elon Musk: his scientists and engineers come up with plans, his workers implement them, yet it is Elon who gets all the credit, not to mention the money.

Admittedly, Elon is more admirable than most other billionaires, since he indeed has a background in technology and actually works overtime (unless this is some kind of urban legend too). Yet being somehow admirable and being worshiped as a god on earth are two completely different things, and I don't know about you, but I am pretty fed up with seeing everywhere quotes by Elon Musk, as if he were the ultimate philosopher.

In my view, the whole cult of worshiping Elon Musk reflects the need of some people for someone to look up at. It is like some people want someone to bow down before, to accept them as their master and superior, and hope to be like them one day. If Elon's worshipers lived during the middle ages, they would worship kings and landlords, and hope that one day they may be accepted as courtiers.

Not a good sign for humanity that there is such a need for someone to worship.
